Oh thank you thank you thank you for another fantastic episode!
I’m a teacher, so in the summer pretty much all days are the same and I forget things like calendar dates. When I saw a new podcast, I remembered it was indeed July and got super excited. 🙂
I have SOOO many notes for this episode – maybe I should leave a Skype voicemail?!?!!

1 – This sorting was one of my favorites. I’m sure you are aware of the scene in IvyBlosson’s great fic “Helpless” where John is reading the HP books to Sherlock, and they debate their houses. Sherlock says he would “clearly” be Slytherin, while John is Gryffindor and Mycroft would be Ravenclaw because all they do is (I hope I get this correct) “all they do is read books and perform well on government exams.” So althoughI love ALL the sorting segments, I really really love this one because John has SO many aspects to his character!!

2 – I would love to watch a cooking show with Qui and Dixie. I’d have to watch it with my hands over my eyes, cringing in fear for their lives, but I’d watch the hell out of it! Good grief. I plan to make these cookies just to see how fabulous they must be if the recipe is followed, because when the recipe was destroyed, they were apparently edible and not too shabby! 🙂 You two crack me up!!
Two ideas for future cooking –
“Sherlock Cookies” which would be made of basically air. The man obviously doesn’t eat cookies. 🙂
Some type of pasta, from Angelo’s imaginary menu. I don’t know why, but I’m thinking something with chicken and mushrooms and a creamy alfredo sauce. I’ll hunt for some recipes.

3 – Methleigh! I love you. You are so interesting and I was thrilled that you were involved in the host segment this time. I really enjoy all these “martial arts” type explanations because I don’t know anything at all about those topics and I like to feel like I’m learning new stuff.

4 – Great interview, as always! I’m a big admirer of all of Emma’s works and I think she writes a fantastic John. Like she says, describing the non-verbals can be so tough because SO much of the interaction between John and Sherlock is unspoken. But I think that Emma does a wonderful job, not only in “Cure” but in all her works, no matter how short and fluffy they are, because her John always seems like John to me.

5 – Traveling London is a GREAT idea for a segment! I’ve never traveled internationally (Canada doesn’t really count, does it? I mean, we drove there. It was so long ago we didn’t even need a passport) and the advice is priceless. I hope to travel to the UK in a next couple years, with a few of my girlfriends so filing away all these ideas and hints and tips is fantastic! I’m a bit of a planner…

And this is just a thought I had from watching the Glastonbury stuff on the BBC YouTube channel: maybe not a segment idea, but maybe it is? I don’t know. This might be really weird. Anyway. What happened was, I saw the pics on Tumblr of BC at the festival, dressed…well, like BC likes to dress. I don’t know much about the Glastonbury festival – like the feel/vibe of it, the music, whatnot, so I checked it out on YouTube and watched a lot of the clips there. Some of my favorite bands performed there, and quite a few I’d heard of but not sought out – like Alt-J (which caused all that drama with BC making the “triangle” sign to fans months ago and people freaked out, turns out it’s just a band thing, not a secret hint to any big spoilery news). So I watched the Alt-J performance and loved it, listened to some stuff on iTunes and bought it, and started thinking – how much “stuff” like songs, movies, plays, books, etc. have the fans checked out due to the involvement with the BBC Sherlock fandom and actors/actresses?
And I’m not just talking BC, even though that might be your biggest “gateway” person. I mean, just for myself – I follow Loo Brealey on Twitter and she is constantly linking to great music that I discover through her. I also have read poetry and articles that she’s suggested, and have listened to music suggested by Martin Freeman and read one of the books that BC “reviewed” years ago on that show where he was on the vacation in Greece…I forget the details of that, but I read the “Mr. Toppit” book and realized I really liked Charles Elton’s writing because of that. So maybe it would be an interesting discussion to have and a cool way to sort of condense stuff that is maybe not BBC-Sherlock related, but related to the actors/actresses/writers who make the show so great.
Now that I re-read that, it seems a bit stalker-y. I don’t mean stalker-y. I don’t mean anybody should stalk these lovely people and figure out their favorite soap and then suggest the fandom only uses that soap. Honestly. I just mean…stuff like music, books, movies, plays…the sort of publicly available stuff that we could all access and enjoy in relation to the fandom?
I don’t know. Maybe it’s crazy. But hey, I’m ok with a little bit of crazy. 🙂

You are the best, hope this rambling all made sense, THANK YOU so much for providing endless entertainment and joy for us all out here and please, please, please PLEASE don’t worry that your segments are too long. No such thing as too much Three-Patch-Podcast!!!

    Cheers!
    NECumberbitch 🙂
